Community Emergency Response Team

CERT training promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to train members of neighborhoods, community organizations, and workplaces in basic response skills. Upon completion of training you will be better prepared to help yourself and your community. These skills can be utilized by the student in the event of a personal emergency or a national disaster and any situation in between.

Whether you want to become a CERT team member, or learn the disaster techniques to help yourself and your family, this training will greatly benefit you and your community.

The training takes place in nine seperate 2-3 hrs sessions as follows:

  1. DISASTER PREPAREDNESS - Prepares you for the situation
  2. FIRE SAFETY - The fundamentals you need to know to survive
  3. DISASTER MEDICAL OPERATIONS - Triage and treating life threatening injuries
  4. DISASTER MEDICAL OPERATIONS - Assessment, treatment, and hygiene
  5. LIGHT SEARCH AND RESCUE - The fundamental of operations and sizeup
  6. TEAM ORGANIZATION - Organize and deploy safely and efficiently
  7. DISASTER PSYCHOLOGY - Caring for yourself, your buddy, and victims
  8. TERRORISM AND CERT - What it is and what to do to help yourself and your country
  9. FINAL EXERCISE - Hands on practical simulation
